True Cast Resin

Precision casting made simple – with reliable results, every time

Formlabs True Cast Resin is a wax-filled material engineered for consistent, high-fidelity casting of parts up to 5 mm thick. From finely detailed jewelry to small engineering components, it’s designed to deliver smooth surface finishes, sharp details, and clean burnout—without the hassle.

Compatible with a wide range of burnout schedules and investment materials, True Cast Resin offers low thermal expansion, minimal shrinkage, and an industry-leading ash content of just 0.03%. Whether you’re casting with gold, silver, brass, or even platinum*, this material provides the consistency and control professionals rely on.

Why Choose True Cast Resin?

Trusted detail and dimensional accuracy

  • Designed for medium to heavy jewelry, signet rings, medallions, and small engineering parts

  • Not ideal for delicate filigree—use Castable Wax Resin for those designs

Clean burnout, minimal residue

  • Only 0.03% ash content

  • 174.1 µm/m/°C thermal expansion

  • Minimal shrinkage and low investment stress

  • Compatible with common burnout cycles (e.g., Prestige Optima)

Fast, flexible workflow

  • Prints up to 4x faster than Castable Wax Resin

  • Validated for 0.025 mm and 0.050 mm layer heights on Form 4

  • Compatible with 3rd party DLP and LCD printers (0.030 mm)

Tailored for casting professionals

  • Available in Formlabs cartridge (Form 4) and 500g bottle (open mode)

  • Reliable print performance and forgiving casting behavior

  • Printed parts remain castable for up to 6 months post-processing

Simple post-processing

  • Fast IPA wash + optional cure (3–10 mins)

  • No full color change required for cast success

  • Smooth integration into existing workflows

*Platinum casting requires specialized materials and expertise due to higher temperatures.

Applications

  • Signet rings, custom medallions

  • Mechanical miniature components

  • Watch bezels and decorative casings

  • Any precision part needing clean, detailed casting
